Metro Route #4 travels between Portland and Westbrook, via USM (Portland) and Brighton Avenue, with service to IDEXX, Abbott Labs (NEW), the Hamlet, and Westbrook Hub (connect to Route 3 and Husky Line).

Metro Route 7 provides transportation between Falmouth, Downtown Portland, and the Portland Jetport, DHHS, and Outer Congress Street.

Please note: Route #5 no longer provides service to the Portland Jetport, Dept. of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and Outer Congress Street. Route 5 travels directly between the Maine Mall area and Downtown Portland.

Metro Connect On-Demand Rideshare in Falmouth is now in service.

To use the Micro-Connect, Metro Riders should download the Metro Connect app on their smartphone from the the App or Google Play Store and follow the prompts to book their ride in Falmouth, available within the zones of the service.

Riders within the service area can book a ride to another location within the zone.

  • For example, travel from OceanView to Shaw’s or Martin’s Point OR from Falmouth Town Market to Falmouth Town Hall.
  • Or, use Metro Connect to connect to Metro Route 7 to travel to Portland and beyond.

Route 7 travels between Falmouth, Downtown Portland, and the Portland Jetport/Outer Congress St.

Route 7 service to Route 88, Town Landing Market, and Oceanview has been discontinued; but, Metro Connect has improved and expanded the previous service.

Route 8 travels throughout the Portland Peninsula, with service to Congress Street, the Old Port, Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital (State Street location), Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Art’s District, Back Cove Hannaford, and the Waterfront (Casco Bay Lines and Visitor Information Center at Ocean Gateway).

Service to all three Portland Public High Schools, Congress Street locations, Westgate, PTC
(short  walk), Stevens Ave, Northgate,  West Falmouth,  Washington Avenue, and Eastern Prom/Munjoy Hill.

No school trips during the summertime (per schedule).

School Trippers

Metro runs additional trips on Route 9A and 9B on school days. These trips will not run on days where Portland Public Schools are not in session, and the additional afternoon trips sometimes run an hour earlier (typically on Wednesdays).

The calendar below shows upcoming days where these “school trippers” will not run as shown on the schedule. This is not an official Portland Public School calendar.
