Yield to Bus

Maine’s “yield to bus” law states that motorists must yield if the public way has a speed limit of 35 miles per hour or less, and the transit bus is equipped with a yield sign on the left side of the rear of the bus that illuminates to signal that it’s reentering the traffic flow.

In August 2023, Metro worked with Greater Portland Council of Governments to produce a video about the law, which was approved in 2019.
