Metro Connect Service Area

metro connect logo

Metro Connect is an on-demand rideshare program available in parts of Falmouth that were previously underserved or not serviced by Metro’s Route 7.

The Zone

Metro Connect serves a zone generally encompassing the Falmouth town borders to the north and south and Middle Road to the west. Additional zones include Falmouth’s schools and Town Hall buildings, as well as Martin’s Point Health Care. Trips can start or end anywhere within the zone. Passengers may be directed to meet the vehicle a short distance away.

Transfers Between Route 7 & Metro Connect

Travel into Portland and beyond by transferring to Metro’s Route 7 fixed route service at the Shaw’s or Walmart bus stop.

Changes To Route 7 Service

The ‘loops’ that provided direct service to OceanView, Johnson Rd., Town Landing Market, and Route 88 locations are no longer serviced by Route 7 and have been replaced by Metro Connect. The new on-demand zones include those areas (and many additional locations) and provides more coverage and better bus service. The updated Route 7 schedule is available – HERE.

Transfers

Transfers between Route 7 and Metro Connect are intended to be easy and seamless.

People who pay their fare with a DiriGo Pass smartcard or mobile app do not need to pay for a transfer between these services.

Transfers can take place along any Route 7 bus stop within the zone, but users will likely want to transfer at Shaw’s or Walmart., which have shelter from the elements and a place to sit. Users simply should set their Metro Connect trip endpoint to their desired transfer point to connect to Route 7 service.

Users riding Route 7 and wish to transfer to Metro Connect should book a ride ahead of time, for a time shortly after the Route 7’s arrival time at your transfer point. Care should be taken not to “no show” for a scheduled Metro Connect trip — book your Connect trip with a few minutes to spare after your estimated arrival time on Route 7.
